The Performances.
The Friendships. The Memories.
There's something special about competition day.
The anticipation before taking the stage. The excitement of watching other programs perform. The friendships made throughout the day. And the celebration of a season's worth of dedication.
At the American Classic, we want students to enjoy every part of that experience.
From the first performance to our popular DJ dance party and final awards presentation, we strive to create a festival atmosphere that performers, directors, and families will remember long after the weekend is over.
The Martinsburg American Classic is a staple of my programs comp season. We have competed at their competition for decades and are incredibly grateful for the professional and fun festival they offer every year. In 2026, when their facility was unavailable due to renovation, we were able to let them use our school and getting to watch the behind the scenes planning and execution from the director, students, and boosters made me even more impressed. We can't wait to attend the American Classic again this year and this time in their new and improved auditorium.
-Hannah Myers, Jefferson High School Choral Director
My experience at the American Classic Show Choir Festival was truly unforgettable! It was an amazing opportunity for our show choir to showcase our hard work, share our passion for performing, and connect with other talented groups. The festival was filled with incredible performances, positive energy, and valuable learning experiences. I’m grateful for the memories we made, the growth we experienced as performers, and the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful event.
- Matthew McDonald, Director of Martinsburg South Spirit Show Choir
A Welcome from Our Festival Leadership
Having spent years traveling to competitions (both nationally and locally) and coordinating the details that go into a successful show choir season, I've come to appreciate just how much the overall experience matters.
As a parent, volunteer, and festival organizer, I've seen firsthand the time and dedication that directors, students, and families invest in their programs. I also know how important it is to feel confident that the competitions you choose will be well organized, welcoming, and worthwhile.
Those experiences have shaped the expectations I bring to the American Classic.
Our team is committed to delivering an exceptional festival, from the quality of our adjudicators and the organization of the competition to the hospitality and thoughtful details that make a difference throughout the weekend.
We take great pride in welcoming schools to Martinsburg, and we look forward to making the 2027 American Classic an experience your program will remember.
